Senior Manager Security and Emergency Response
 
- Establish and maintain networks within the organization to effectively communicate awareness of security, emergency response and crisis management;
- Use these networks to seek feedback and opportunities for improvement;
- Prepare awareness material related to security and emergency response and distribute this as part of the OI Understanding process;
- Maintain and continually improve the standards and templates related to security, emergency response and crisis management;
- Perform audits and reviews of security and emergency response arrangements (including bridging arrangements to authorities and 3rd parties) throughout the organization to establish compliance, and to seek areas for improvement;
- Continually monitor security threats related to travel, and ensure suitable arrangement are in place to manage these threats;
- Facilitate the crisis management process by ensuring that arrangements remain suitable through regular Tier 3 exercises and training;
- Perform the role of Crisis Team Lead (as delegated by the CEO) in the event of a crisis;
- Manage contracts related to security intelligence and ensure that these contracts provide an adequate level of service;
- Use existing business networks within the organization to develop sources of intelligence, and where necessary develop additional external networks for intelligence gathering;
- Monitor intelligence data to establish credible threats to people within the organization and to business continuity;
- Through appropriate methods assess the risks of the security threats;
- Proactively engage with the business accountable persons throughout the organization to make them aware of risks related to security threats and provide strong recommendations on the measures to be taken;
- Collaborate with the business accountable persons to ensure that effective measures have been taken to address the risks, and follow up to ensure that these measures remain to be effective, particularly considering a changing risk picture;
- Facilitate incident investigations related to security incidents and failures of emergency response as per the BWO processes;
- Continuously check best industry practice to ensure that security, emergency response and crisis management processes and tools remain fit-for-purpose;
- Seek out good practices within BW Offshore and the industry to establish those practices that could provide a tangible benefit to security and emergency response outcomes;
- Facilitate training and coaching of personnel related to security, emergency response and crisis management in collaboration with HC and the business units;
- Deputizes for Head of OI as required.
 
Qualifications:
- Master Degree in Engineering or HSEQ related major, Bachelor Degree, or degree in unrelated subject, with significant relevant experience may be acceptable.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in the offshore Oil & Gas industry, or closely related industry;
- Previous experience working in a similar role for an Operating Company;
- Previous experience working in a multinational environment and in high risk regions is desirable
- Military, intelligence, or law enforcement background is desirable.
- Team player with proven leadership skills is essential;
- Must possess excellent analytical skills;
- Must be able to demonstrate a pragmatic and delivery orientated approach – both individually and within a team;
- Excellent managerial skills with a high focus on influencing senior stakeholders;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Flexibility, honesty and reliability are considered important factors;
- Adaptability to change is key for the role;
- Strong presentation skills demonstrated at a senior leadership level is preferred;
- Must display a passion for the role.
- Expert understanding of the security discipline within an oil and gas environment;
- Expert knowledge and application of Risk Management methods;
- Expert knowledge and application of Emergency Response and Crisis Management methods;
- Experience with both project and operations phases of offshore facilities within an oil and gas environment;
- Experience of managing incident investigations and root cause analyses;
- Fluent Oral and Written English;
- Some fluency in French, Spanish and Portuguese is desirable.
